Who We Are
We are a breed specific dog rescue charity approved by the Kennel Club. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Our Registered Charity Number is 1207011.
We are run by Committee, overseen by Trustees and supported by volunteers all over the UK. In addition to re-homing dogs in need, we also support and advise owners to enable them to build their relationship with the dog and prevent the need for re-homing where possible.
A handful of love
Spanish Water Dogs are a working breed who have been in the UK since 1992. Originally they worked on Spanish farms in herding and guarding roles, and as natural swimmers also worked on trawlers collecting nets and protecting the catch.
Helping introduce nervous and blind dogs to water, increasing their confidence and safety.
Dock diving is something Spanish Water Dogs can have huge amounts of fun practicing
Our Mission
To provide help and support for Spanish Water Dogs in the UK that need us, and if needed, to do our best to find them permanent homes with responsible, loving families.
How you can help
Become a volunteer
We have a list of volunteers across the UK who we call on to undertake initial visits to dogs needing rehoming, home checks on potential new homes, and transporting dogs to their new home.
Fundraising events
Our fundraising sub-committee organise a number of fundraising events each year to raise funds for behavioral support and the costs of re-homing dogs. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome.
Donations
Running a rescue organisation is expensive. We commit to undertake a full behavioural assessment and health check for all dogs that come into rescue and we transport dogs all over the UK for re-homing.
All donations are most welcome.
Help us continue our work
Please consider volunteering, attending or organising fundraising events or donating to our funds.
